My take is that before the X360's achievement virus got me sometimes I had little motivation to carry on into a game until the end. Trophies and achievements gave me the desire to complete games and out of that enjoy them more.
Basically if someone has problems with folks completing "easy" platinum titles they do not see the rest of the platinum list which may include hard to earn or rigorously grinding games. This leads to a sudden jump to a conclusion which then leads to altercations.
Its each gamer's choice of how one wants to play their games, and I have learned that if folks have a problem with our gameplay style and there isnt a way to fix their negative views about it then its simply a "smile & wave" policy. No sense in going overboard as they will not get the point of what means to be a trophy whore or completionist.
Some games I play for the sense of sensing a do-able platinum, others are just so enjoyable I do not mind grinding to earn the plat simply because it's FUN. Others are just so crappy you just want to close your eyes and get over with it ASAP!
My 2 cents.
